THREE FIBER OPTICS NETWORKING CERTIFICATIONS IN ONE WEEK!

The South Mountain Community College Guadalupe Center is an a Fiber Optics Association approved college and will offer three industry-recognized fiber optics certification classes March 7 - 13, 2011.  SMCC is the only Arizona provider of these classes.

The courses, presented in association with BDI DataLynk, include the following benefits:

Program includes the following non-credit courses:

CONT_ED (Class Nbr 35304) Basic Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT), March 7-9
The three-day Certified Fiber Optics Technician training includes hands-on instruction in the design, installation, termination, splicing and testing of fiber optics networks, plus an overview of the history and theory of fiber optics data transmission. The class is accredited by BICSI at a level of 21 continuing education credits, and Fiber Optics Technician certification testing is given and graded on the last day of class.  Tuition: $700.CONT_ED (Class Nbr 35306) Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T), 
March 10-11
The two-day Certified Fiber Optics Testing and Maintenance training provides hands-on instruction in testing and maintenance of single and multi-mode fiber optics networks, and includes a detailed overview of the equipment used in testing and maintenance. The class is accredited by BICSI at a level of 14 continuing education credits, and the certification test is given and graded on the last day of class. Tuition: $675.

CONT_ED (Class Nbr 35308) Certified Fiber Optics Splicing Specialist, March 12-13
Finally, the two-day Certified Fiber Optics Splicing Specialist training includes a complete presentation on the importance of high performance splicing and further details the points necessary to achieve these splices. The depth of presentation is much greater than most textbooks, and provides essential background information on the art of splicing. The class is approved by BICSI at a level of 14 continuing education credits. Tuition: $675.

Each class session runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The SMCC Guadalupe Center is located at 9233 S. Avenida del Yaqui (Priest Drive south of Guadalupe Road) in Guadalupe.

Online Registration Instructions
1.  Navigate to http://my.maricopa.edu
 
2.  Login using your Maricopa MEID Number.
     • If you need an MEID and password or  have forgotten yours, click the “First Time Users Start Here” box
     • All others click login, then enter your MEID and password
 
3.  If this is your first time enrolling in a non credit course with SMCC, click the MCCCD Admissions link
 
4.  From the drop options next to each question select:

   • South Mountain Comm College

   • Non Credit

   • Spring  2011

5.  Click link to begin new enrollment process.  The system will walk you through filling out/updating your Student Information.
 
6.  Enter the Class Nbr indicated above next to the fiber optics course you wish to enroll (35304, 35306 or 35308) .
 
7.  Click “Next” button to add the class.
 
8.  Review selection, then continue to enter Class Nbr to enroll in additional classes or click Proceed to Step 2 of 3.
 
10.  Click Finish Enrolling when done adding classes.

11.  Click Make Payment to pay tuition or set-up payment plan.
