South Mountain Community College is pleased to be an official Cisco Networking Academy. The Networking Academy program delivers Web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on-labs, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry standard certifications such as the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and the Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP).
In addition, we offer courses in Information Information Technology Security (ITS), Wireless, PIX Firewalls, Voice over IP (VoIP), and IP Telephony.
At SMCC the Cisco curriculum is taught by certified professionals – all of whom are Cisco Certified Academy Instructors (CCAI).
Employment Outlook
The rapid advance of technology, the Internet, and the overall growth of an information age economy has created enormous employment opportunities for individuals with Cisco training. For example, according to the U.S. Department of Labor: Bureau of Labor Statistics one of the top 10 fastest growing occupations from 2002-12 is the “Network systems and data communications analysts” occupation.
In addition, three Cisco certifications captured the honors among the “10 Hottest Certifications for 2006” in a recent study done by TCP Magazine.
